Amongst the international recognitions bestowed upon the Company for its outstanding achievements are, The International Aga Khan Award (1983), The International Grand Prix Tradition and Prestige Award (1996) Spain, The 8th International Construction Award (1996) Spain and Nominee for the 2013 Best Tall Building Middle East & Africa by Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
The Company offers total solutions covering the areas of design and build, project management and construction. It has the capability to undertake projects ranging from simple infrastructure such as roads, sewerage and bridges to more sophisticated assignments such as marine works, dams, tunneling, breakwaters, reclaimed land and airport projects together with its partners. The Company has also vast experience in the construction of commercial buildings, condominiums, places of worship, resorts, universities, sports complexes besides housing projects and recreational clubs.
One of the notable achievements of the Company is the design and build of one of the most prestigious and largest universities in Malaysia, the Universiti Malaysia Sabah in Kota Kinabalu which was developed within a 999 acres of land along the Sabah coast with a total construction cost of about RM2 Billion. Within the University’s campus, the Company had initiated the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) concept (the first successful concept in Malaysia) whereby the Company had completed 5 blocks of privatized student hostels with one central facility. The Phase II with a similar concept will be implemented to meet the University’s demand for providing a total of 7,270 students’ with accommodation. The lease is for a period of 30 years from 2004.
On the international front, the Company has constructed the Grand Friday Mosque in the Republic of Maldives, the Sowen Valley bungalow lots in Botswana with a 18 holes PGA standard golf course and hotel facilities. Besides this, the Company has just constructed an iconic 37-storey twin tower commercial building in Manama, for the National Hotels Company of Bahrain.
